In honour of the 100th anniversary of the world-famous Cambridge certificates was held in our school so called the Cambridge Day within the English project “Penfriends!” on 23rd October 2013.The event was held in the session lounge of the Transport Academy in Žilina, where the students of classes I.DP and IV. BP under leadership of teachers Mgr. Salát and Mgr. Makúchová worked on thematic projects. The students chose the following topics: Our school and Our Class. Moreover, the students of the class IV.AP were indirectly engaged with the topic “How the English language improves my future!” (the author of the project M. Adamíková) in the scope of English lessons. The students of the class III.DP were also engaged in the project via the topic “My ideal school”. Both of the classes worked under the leadership of the English teacher, Mgr. Kubalová. The students took advantage of opportunity to choose one of ten topics, which was included in the project. In the conclusion was elaborated the report, which was sent to the test centre Cambridge. In this competition are engaged the school all round the world and the main prize is the school equipment amounting 3000 pounds. The best works will be published in the Internet webpage of the test centre, which is a part of the Cambridge University.
The students did a great job, expressed their creativity and imagination, as well as the English knowledge. They do deserve a great praise! We thank to all of them for mutual cooperation and active participation.
